OCTOBER ITEM HUNTS
Hello! If you would like to form a small group (minimum of two players) to go on a mini-quest throughout the game's landscape searching for an item, clue, or spell to ward off the infection please fill out the form below!
Please note: the mod team will only be providing the item, what it may need to be combined with, the location, and potential troubles they may have searching for it. We will leave how you thread this out up to you.
Characters who are infected may still participate in the daytime hours should you wish! However, your scenarios may be a little...different...
We will also create a small master list of what characters are going after what items so that you may reference it to coordinate and combine your items! Please remember you will need to figure out IC arrangements on your own.
Characters: Names of the questing party members
Location opt-outs: Is there anywhere you don't want to go? (Includes the haunted house in prompt 4 of the event log + the four regions)
Monster: Any specific monster you want to try to find a cure/protectant against? (If not, just leave this blank)
Infected: Are any of the characters infected at the time of questing?

no subject
GRANITE - Temporary protection and warding abilities against the undead. Must only be from a gravestone for maximum potential. Best if mixed with apatite and malachite.
OKTOROK: A stone projectile from the mouth of the Octorok. These stones must be caught from the mouths of these creatures and may be used to launch at incoming zombies. Enhanced with warding abilities, these stones will stop zombies in their path and they will continue to walk in place. May also be used to strike harpies from mid-air.
MERPERSON
GREEN MINERAL SALT - Spreading this salt and mixing it with plants will create a barrier of protection from infection. This salt may also be mixed with water and drank to ward off spirits and prevent physical changes, but too much or too little water will nullify the results. Green mineral salt may only be collected from the cove of a hippocampus. May also be mixed with white sage to prevent spirit infection.
IRIDESSENCE - A thin, milk-like substance that acts as a glue to bind and ward against mermaids. This essence will protect the user from being drawn into the ocean so long as it's consumed. Marking a mermaid with this essence will also bind them to the sea so they cannot harm humans on land. Must be collected from the Tamamora. Can also act as a binding agent for glass inside Viewmaster goggles.
HARPY
MALACHITE - A transformation stone that promotes healing and change. This stone, when worn, casts a powerful shield over the wearer to prevent them from being attacked by harpy beaks and talons. While toxic for human consumption, grinding these stones into smelling salts will also temporarily revert a harpy's nature. Can be combined with granite and apatite to ward against the undead.
MIDASDUST - A finely grated mixture of minerals, sand and bone marrow. This mixture may be obtained from beneath the city life and collected via sifting through soils past. May be throw onto harpies for a dust bath, incapacitating their ability for flight and even retracting harpy-esque features.
GHOST
WHITE SAGE - Collecting and burning this plant will ward ghosts away from areas that they've settled in to haunt. White sage is also a cleansing plant and ghosts will be less likely to possess or harm someone with clear energy. Most effective if ground and mixed with green mineral salt.
PRO-ZERO- A camera enforced with ghost-trapping electrons used to reassemble a ghost's make-up and solidify the spirit. The flash may also be used to ward off vampires. Go beyond what you see and you shall be rewarded.
CEDARPIN- A clothespin made from a special wood found in Bosuma, these clothing pins are made to stop ghosts in their tracks, tethering them to this plain and transforming their appearance from the ethereal clear form into a solid sheet. May also be used to pinch harpy talons to render them harmless.
GOLEM
ODINITE - This strong material is solid and pure creating a substance that does not allow other materials to bond with it and create new hybrids. This makes it most effect against GOLEMS. Odinite may be used to disassemble a golem for a short period of time and will protect the wielder from taking on the properties and traits of a golem themselves. So long as they hold odinite, they will retain their human qualities in a golem's presence. Weapons made of odinite may also be used to craft jewelry or weapons while fortifying silver, most effective against werewolves.
ONUP - A flat bronze token enchanted with a spell that prevents further assembly of golems. When placed in the center of a golem's forehead, this token will stop them in their tracks and render them unable to change forms or pick up other items to transform with. May be mistaken for a gaming token, but look for the mark.
REVERBRANIUM - A stone buried deep beneath the earth beyond your final destination. These stones are said to help balance and focus the body as the soul exits to guide themselves to the next part of the afterlife. Particularly attractive to golems, these stones will backfire on these creatures as it focuses their mind and releases them from their current form. This stone may also be used to throw at assorted monsters as a distracting tool.
SLIME
MOONSAND - Moonsand - A rough binding agent found under the soil where monsters roam, used to absorb and derail slime from slime monsters. Moonsand may be used to deflect slime and prevent it from sticking to humankind, and when used on slime creatures it temporarily dries the slime valves so they cannot capture prey for a period of time. May also be mixed with nymph nectar to rust the joints of robots.
EYE OF NEWT - Eye of Newt: a chemically-reactive mixture drawn from the eyes of the Giant Sea Newt. This mixture must be pulled from the creature's tearducts and when applied will dissolve and break apart slime. Cat's Eye may be dipped into Eye of Newt to create a strong barrier against demonic possession and evil spirits.
VAMPIRE
SUNDROP - A rare flower found in the wilderness that emits its own personal glow, rich with vitamin d and natural sunlight. These flowers are warm to the touch and will radiate an almost ethereal glow bright enough to drive off and potentially burn vampires. This flower will also create a temporary barrier around its holder. May also be dipped in a binding agent such as iridessence or moonsand to reveal hidden features of demons and spirits (iridessence for demons, moonsand for ghosts.)
STAKE 'N SHAKE: An item that cuts down wooden material and infuses them with an essence potent to vampire. This machine shapes any piece of wood into a small dagger-esque shape that will glow green when activated. Please be advised use of Stake n' Shake may leave a user smelling of garlic. Wood not included.
ABADACUS - A device made of metal bars and wooden beads that move in an endless cycle. Often used for quick counting, dividing, and even cheating in a gamble. Also known as "infinity beads", the abadacus is a tool used to ward off vampires as it will distract them thanks to their undying need to count what's before them. May also be used as a bludgeoning tool if necessary.
MUMMY
DRAGONFLAME - Fire cured specifically from the mouth of a dragon, this flame can be used to ward off mummies as they fear the burning of their bandages. Must retain its temperature to be effective. Can be used to boil nymph nectar to repel werewolves and burn and cool iron to fight off demons.
CHERRY BOMBS - A small explosive picked from the trees along the forest swamp. Volatile to touch, these half-fruit half-weapon items can be activated by twisting off the stem and throwing them. Best used to ward off mummies as the impact will instill fear of obliteration. May also be used against vampires and werewolves for flash flames.
WRAP BATTLE - A specialized type of cloth bandage that treats the deadliest of wounds, Wrap Battle is a rare resource woven from the silk of spiders found in the furthest parts of Bosuma and imported to hospitals and doctors' offices in the city. This bandage can also be applied to a mummy to squeeze the monstrous traits out of them. Effectiveness is enhanced if bandages are dipped in iridessence.
SHADE
APATITE - Unearthing this gem will provide grounding properties to hold yourself together. Protects against losing yourself and prevents shadows from disappearing. Most effective if combined with malachite, and may ward off undead mixed with granite.
ILLUMINITRON - An item containing pure light that can be used to steal the light from energy sources and drive away shadows and darkness. Found under the lights in the sky but encased in darkness. Especially effective on shades, may also force vampires and demons into the light.
AUTO-FLAIR- A gun with double barrels that can not only shoot bullets but is capable of shooting plasma to cover and brighten Shades, disabling their ability to collect the shadows.
WEREWOLF
NYMPH NECTAR - When sprayed, mollifies werewolves when within three feet of the sprayer. Must be collected from the streams where the nymphs lie and tend to the waters around them. Must not aggravate nymphs. Most effective if boiled via dragonflame.
SILVER - When worn, protects the wearer from a werewolf's bite and infection. Should a werewolf touch a wearer, the werewolf shall become immobilized and paralyzed. Time may vary. Must be handmined and pure. Most effective if crafted into jewelry using weapons made of odinite.
STYGIAN WHISTLE - An item from the deepest crypts that emits a noise inaudible to human but tuned to a frequency heard by werewolves. This whistle will cause werewolves to stop in their tracks and even run away from their prey. If blown enough, it may even cause temporary clarity to bring a werewolf to their senses. May also be worn on a silver chain for maximum efficiency.
DEMON
COLD IRON HORSESHOES - When buried or used to surround an enclosure, wards off evil spirits and drives back darkness. May also be mounted to bring the user good luck in avoiding demonic possession and see through demonic trickery. Best if burned and cooled in dragonflame to expand the range of the barrier.
CAT’S EYE - A small gem hidden in the lush, elaborate foliage beyond the trees used to ward off evil spirits, demonic possessions and bad energy. When worn, this gem will create a barrier that will not allow harmful energies to cross a certain line. May also be mixed with Eye of Newt for a stronger barrier.
TUNNELCHIMES - A set of magically enhanced windchimes crafted in the deepest mines and created with blown glass, stones, and flecks of sand. These chimes are rare and will need to be activated to allow a ward to spread around the area of which they are hung. This barrier will also reveal the true nature of demons and temporarily revert possession. May be tied to a cold iron horseshoe for a larger barrier.
BAMBOO - Known for their healing properties, bamboo shoots are known for producing a high, healing energy. Collect clean bamboo shoots from the mouths that feed and transplant them into a pot. May be used to re-route evil energies in people.
EVIL ROBOT
VIEWMASTER GOGGLES - An item that when worn shields the wearer from losing their sense of self and inspires creativity, self-awareness, and imagination. When placed on robots, these goggles will temporarily rewire those who have been infected to remind them of the beauty of humanity. Glass must be melded to goggles via iridessence for effects to work.
CIRCUITBYTE - Small landmine-like device that when set and launched will send electromagnetic waves through the ground. Best used to combat robots, as the waves will pulsate and reset their programming from the feet upward for a temporary amount of time. Manual reprogramming still required.
JOINT JUICE - An oil-based substance that can be used to ease aching muscles, stiff joints, and combat against the stiff appearance of machinery and evil robots. Must be milked from cows of the outskirts. May also be mixed with moonsand for a thick paste.
