Newly housed in a remote location attached to the Recollé Public Library, one only has to pass through the invisible door scanners to access Zee's current office. Upon entering, users will see an upgraded suite, three unmarked (and closed) doors along the wall behind Zee's desk, and windows overlooking the city.

-Threads with Zee may be used for AC/bonus points should players choose to do so.
-Threads with Zee may be used to gain mission assignments or discuss plot points, game events, etc.
-Threads with Zee may be cut short if they are irrelevant solely to save on mod-time as well.
-Unless stated otherwise, assume that he is always reachable for Retrospec users.

[Shinji pokes him in the side and Zee jumps a little. He's maybe ticklish, please don't do that. And yet suddenly there's a nine year old hugging him and yeah, okay, maybe it would be easier to wait until he was standing but he'll make it work. It's awkward and tentative but it's also returned with one arm.]

[now that I know that I have to have shinji tickle zee sometime]

Don't get hurt again. [Slightly muffled into Zee's shirt, barely audible over Shinji sniffling.] I don't like it.

[recollecters]

[Children...it's fine, he's just going to pat Shinji on the head because he's pretty sure everything about the company's traumatized this child.]

I'll try not to. [No promises though.] I can't say I'm a huge fan of it either. But I'm okay, see?

[spirithacker]

[what do you mean, nothing wrong with a child remembering dying twice before they hit puberty]

O-okay. [He's definitely physically here, and alive, so Shinji guesses he must be okay for real and Shinji's dumb for getting worked up when he's not even the one who died.

Reluctantly, he lets go.]

Promise you're okay?

[recollecters]

[He ruffles his hair before Shinji pulls away completely. May as well continue to reassure him.] I absolutely promise. Almost all of my memories I lost are back and my abilities seem to be working just fine. Plus the whole being alive thing.

[spirithacker]

[Normally, Shinji protests that he's a big kid who doesn't need things like hair ruffles anymore.

He doesn't feel like doing that now.]

Okay. ...If you get hurt again I'll kick your butt extra hard in Smash.

[Clearly, the most effective threat to keep someone safe.]

[recollecters]

[There's a laugh at least.] Consider me warned. That's a pretty big punishment, you know. [He pauses though and lets his eyes scan the room.] I'm not even sure which box my Switch is in. I'll find it eventually.

[spirithacker]

I can help unpack!

[Shinji can't help with a lot of things, like everything being on fire or shooting robots or Vanderweele. But this is something that he can do.]

[recollecters]

You sure? [He raises an eyebrow.] Unpacking's pretty boring.

[...granted what's the harm in it? Most of the boxes are probably documents and random stuff Shinji won't be able to identify anyway.]

So's putting out fire walls, and other stuff the grownups can help with.

[Let Him Help, Darnit.]

[recollecters]

That's because being a grown-up is really, really boring. [As someone much older he's allowed to say that...but he does gesture for Shinji to follow to a small stack of cardboard boxes with lids they can pull off.] Why would anyone want to be one?

[spirithacker]

'Cause nobody takes kids seriously. [Shinji starts pulling off lids and setting them aside.] And you're not allowed to do anything. Grownups say you should just let them handle stuff and be a regular kid.

Like you can be a regular kid when there's a dome over the city, or your teachers just say the same stuff over and over again. That's dumb. Grownups are dumb.

[He's as much a part of this as any other Retrospec user, whether they like it or not.]

[recollecters]

[What Shinji's currently unveiling are stacks of books. They're small and light enough that he can lift them out, and they seem to be a mix of books that are non-fiction and text books and medical journals and also fictional novels. And some manga. It's a mess of his stuff and stuff from headquarters.]

Grownups are incredibly dumb, you're right. It's a lesson you learn the hard way because they try to keep it a secret. [A bemused sort of expression takes over.] You know adults say that because they care about you and want you to be safe even with all of this weird stuff going on, don't you?

[spirithacker]

[Okay but what is Zee's taste in manga, he has to know.]

...Yeah.

[He knows. It's frustrating. He can't even get mad about that part.]

But I don't want them to get hurt either.

[recollecters]

[He's an embarrassment and there's definitely a bunch of your typical shounen stuff, including probably every volume the rec-equivelent of Shaman King and Bleach. So that was Bad.]

I know. That's where it's even more unfair. [He'll open another book and start pulling out small knick-knacks, and also things for his dogs. Wild.] That's where we have to start planning and strategizing. I think we all want to minimize the damage here.

[spirithacker]

Do you think we can do it? So nobody gets super hurt anymore?

[Despite Zee's terrible taste in manga, Shinji still trusts him to have the answers to these questions.

[recollecters]

...I'm going to give you a grown-up answer. I don't know. [Thanks, Zee.] I believe we can, and I think we can, but in the end someone's going to get hurt. We just have to make sure it's not us.

[Vanderweele and his associates? Sure. That's fine.]

[spirithacker]

[At least he's treating Shinji like a grown-up. Shinji still doesn't like the answer, but he'd like being lied to even less.]

Okay. ...Okay. We'll try super hard so only the bad guys get hurt.

[That's better than the alternative, at least.]

Hey, Zee?

[recollecters]

That's the spirit. [But it's a lot to ask and he knows it.]

...what is it?

[spirithacker]

You have really bad taste in manga.

[recollecters]

[There's an indignant kind of squawk, but it sort of melts into a laugh.] Oh yeah? And what would you recommend instead?

[And so Shinji spent probably the next fifteen minutes recommending actually good manga to Zee, and also helping unpack. He did two useful things today!

Maybe it's not as impressive as fighting robots, but it's something.]
