so maybe this is poor timing but i think it's serious shit in and of itself
but you got any way to stop an alien parasite from consuming me and destroying the world by chance?
i heard you took care of a curse that guaranteed dying after a few years, so. just wondering.
no subject
Might be able to look into stopping that.
What can you tell me about this alien parasite and what it's doing so far? Or is it still dormant?
(My files are all over the place, it's faster for you to explain than me digging everything up from the move.)

mr tall, ten abs and confused about memories is here, but he’s not about to let his own personal crisis get in the way of this. not that the post was new news to begin with.
it was time to get moving, and he prays— he hopes that he’ll make the right calls, now that vanderweele’s taken another step too far. ]

He doesn't look away from the screen, but there's a hint of a smile.]

[one look at her should let Zee know how much hell she's been through.]

I. [Yeah, he's staring directly where her eye should be and he's quickly withdrawing his hands from the box to slam the lid shut and darting over.] Give me that, you sit down and tell me what the hell happened out there. I lost track of the signal after a while.

Until Zee, that is.
Zee had seemed to be the only one who acknowledged the others, to provide them with answers and help when the rest of the company did not. With only him around, and the bombshell he recently dropped on the network, now seemed to be the time to finally meet the man himself and talk. Shinji said Zee had listened to him in the past-- let's hope he was consistent about that.
Schoolbag slung over his shoulder, Xiaolang straightens his posture and knocks at the office door. Barging in wouldn't make a good impression if he wanted to make a compromise, even if he was less than thrilled with him at the moment.]
Mr. Carlisle?
[Despite everyone he knew going by first name basis for him, it felt awkward when they never actually talked prior to this.]
Do you have a moment? There's something I'd like to discuss with you.
no subject
The door's opened and Zee stands there blinking down at Xiaolang for a moment. There's a half-smile though and he steps back to let him into the office.]
Absolutely. Come on in, Xiaolang.
[Even if he's never met him in person, he makes it a priority to know who's who. The office is still littered with cardboard boxes and files all over his desk, but it's a little more cleaned up than before. Give him a second to start clearing space.] Can I get you anything?

Togusa knocks on the door to Zee's office a few moments later. "Zee," questioning. "Do you have a minute? I wanted to see how you were doing."
He might also be holding a bag of jerky treats for the dogs...
no subject
"Mr. Togusa." It's polite and there's a hint of a grin, but he can't quite help but wonder what he's about to be questioned on now. He's always known Togusa to ask a lot of questions and want answers, but he doesn't seem put out. "I definitely have more than a minute. Come on in. And shouldn't I be asking how you're doing? I'm not the one who was in the hospital."
Almost immediately after, he drops what's in his hands (a map, from the looks of it) and moves to clear off space in a chair. "Have a seat." He would offer the couch...but yeah, he's not moving his dog. Sorry man.

[ "again" ]
I know you are busy! But I wanted to see how you were fairing, and perhaps ask you about a thing or three. Are you doing well behind the scenes? The children on this app are a riot.
no subject
Ahmi. May I call you Ahmi?
[He tends to be a bit more polite with adults older than himself ("Mr. Togusa", "Mr. Wesker", "Ms. Marker."]
I suppose I'm alright. Behind the scenes has been a mess, but I suppose that happens with an unexpected move. I see you've been adjusting just fine.

But here he is, sometime shortly after lunch, standing in front of the door and wondering if this is really a good idea. There's no telling if he'll get anything out of this meeting, and it might just irritate him more. But he's done a lot of assuming about Retrospec, and it might be a good idea to get some concrete answers, or at least find out what Zee knows.
Jaeger knocks on the door and takes a step back. His left hand rests over the blastia for a moment before he realizes what he's doing and he drops it.]
Mr. Carlisle, are you in?
no subject
Oh. Mr....Wesker now, I suppose? [He's not sure if Jaeger took Wesker's name or not, but here we are.] Please come in. [He steps aside to let the other man in, gesturing to the couch across from his desk and a few chairs.] Can I get you anything?

[ ahmi did say she was going to see him. ahmi does not lie, yes. she brings with her, in her astral pouch, a vanilla ice cream cake as well (it’s better to carry things in there now, you’ll never know when people will see a wolf carrying cake).
although, whether zee will hear at his door a knock or scratching is up to him. whether he’ll see her everything is up to him— rainbow fire, a beautiful white light, feathers!! feathers. flowing red marks, or— nothing at all.
but she’s waiting by his door with patience to either hear a come in, or for the door to open for her. ]
no subject
But that's correct and you're outside my door right now, aren't you.
[The text is sent and yeah, he hears a scratching because Zee isn't exactly normal and he has his own magical woofs. As such, he remembers what Ahmi told him, so he's getting up and opening the door to...
...look down at her. There's a grin.]
I like the new look. Come on. [Come inside.]

Zee? Mrs. Whistler?
[Shuji's holding his book in one hand. It's still a book! Maybe it will continue to be a book if everything goes nicely.]
no subject
She's been staring like that for hours. I thought she'd at least say something by now, but this is more unnerving than anything.
[Please let the book stay a book.]
no subject
Don't try to tell me it's about Vanderweele, either. Nobody cares. If this is between you and him, there's still no reason to get other people involved.
no subject
I'll take either.
Also the answer is because I don't have half of the powers you guys do.

no subject
I need scouts mostly. I can't be everywhere at once as much as I'd want to be. That was never my skill set. There's sunken treasure at the bottom of Pesgare...I'm still drafting maps but those are the Sights I've been getting.
And I'm fine? Probably. Let's not talk about that just yet.

We've talked around the idea of separating out the soul energy enough times. I need specifics. If we can wrangle things to force Retrospec to give us a choice, in the present? There are plenty of people who want to stay here but also aren't willing to sacrifice the world they're remembering to get it.
What do we have to do? What else do you need?

See, I ended up vanishing for a little bit... well. I left in what, September 2021? And then spent just about two years away. Two years for me, but basically no time for you. (You know we love weird time shit!) I went to a world where blood and beasts rule the day. Where the petty supernatural dictates every aspect of our lives. Where I crashed a boat, turned into a raven, and tried to stab a god to death with blood magic and Edgar Allan Poe stories. (It wasn't as cool as I'm making it sound.)
But I'm back now. And I brought someone with me. Her name's Kainé, and she's... one of the souls we were trying to save. She's the full version of one of the people this whole project was made to restore. And she's the love of my fucking life. I've told her so many stories about this place, about my home and I couldn't wait to bring her back with me, and I just... I want to show her everything.
Anyway. I don't want to get sappy, but. I just want you to know that you permanently changed the course of my life for the better. You, Retrospec, and everyone I've met because of it. I can't thank you enough, Zee. Really. Hope you're doing well.
