Zee Carlisle, #55891
Retrospec Hiring Manager

Newly housed in a remote location attached to the Recollé Public Library, one only has to pass through the invisible door scanners to access Zee's current office. Upon entering, users will see an upgraded suite, three unmarked (and closed) doors along the wall behind Zee's desk, and windows overlooking the city.

-Threads with Zee may be used for AC/bonus points should players choose to do so.
-Threads with Zee may be used to gain mission assignments or discuss plot points, game events, etc.
-Threads with Zee may be cut short if they are irrelevant solely to save on mod-time as well.
-Unless stated otherwise, assume that he is always reachable for Retrospec users.

Old inbox can be found here.

[Missed opportunity, Zee!!! But it does have him eye the boxes around with a renewed interest, his curiosity piqued.]

You mean... these are all from Retrospec? Why didn't they file them away digitally--?

[But his question is cut off by a small gasp, surprised by Zee's sudden fade-out. He only tenses further when the other man flickers back into view, cursing himself for letting his guard down around him. Right. Even if he looked human, Zee himself said that he was technically alien-- just like the rest of the company. Perhaps he shouldn't be throwing stones in glass houses, considering his own odd talents, but still...

He watches him, somewhat warily, as Zee moves the boxes... wherever he was phasing to, resisting the urge to ask about it. No, that was only going to get him side-tracked. That could be done later, after he'd talked to Zee about the more important matter at hand.

At the other man's invitation, he settles on the couch in front of the desk, though his posture is anything but relaxed. His back is stiff and straight, and his hands are balled into rigid fists in his lap. It felt like an odd cross between being at the principal's offer or some sort of project proposal, but there was more riding on that than any of that. He had to be as professional as he can about this.]

... Mr. Carlisle.

[His voice is even and steady as he stares straight ahead at Zee, his face in an unwavering mask.]

This plan you have, for us to help bring everyone back to themselves to help combat Vanderweele... I don't think it's a wise idea. Especially not if 'everyone' includes former Retrospec users. There has to be another way to go about this.

[... well, props to him for being straight to the point when he wants to!!]

[Xiaolang's just going to go with the company being exceptionally stupid until proven otherwise! Which... y'know, is very possible, given how Vanderweele seemed to worm his way into the company and all, so maybe paper notes were less of a risk than digital...

... that's not the subject at hand, though. Xiaolang's expression remains stony and serious, even as Zee seems to be taken aback by his words, refusing to back down from them. Were they blunt? Yes, but there wasn't any point in dancing around his intentions.

The resulting question, however, does leave the smallest of cracks on his mask. He was expecting a refusal, or maybe a stronger argument... but not quite this. He takes a deep breath, still keeping his posture as stiff as a statue. At least he was prepared to defend his point.]

Because bringing people back onto the app will just do them more harm than good. There's been too many cases of people getting bits of themselves back that impacted their health, and their way of life-- and even the well-being of people around them, too. I don't see how pulling them into all of this after they've finally gotten back their normal lives is going to fix the problem at hand. If anything, it's just going to create more if you do.

[If anyone should know about dangerous shit getting to other users, it's definitely Zee-- but Xiaolang has enough tact not to mention that. It's too soon.]

We should just use who we have still available now and fight him that way. We're already accustomed to all of this, anyway.
