This is where you can submit plot ideas for mod-run plots and submit larger scale player plots (or smaller scale ones) for approval to the mod team. Accepted submissions of either kind are eligible to earn extra points for regains, the amount which will be determined by the mods upon submission of a mod-run plot or completion of the player-run plot in execution. Plots which are open to a wider variety of characters will usually earn more points.

PLOT: Hello friends it's time for Recolle Ninja Warrior finally. Alex and I have talked this over for the past few weeks and now I'm finally here to throw it out there!

So this will be an entirely player-run event with motivations being "why not" and funding coming from the Sandiego Foundation's inexplicable wealth. However we might ask that Retrospec gets sort of involved in whichever way you'd like because we'd like to request that winners of the Ninja Warrior course be given freebie memories!

For the actual details: there will be two options for entry in the Ninja Warrior Competition! First the Team Option will allow for player teams of three to five or the Solo Option will just have one person declared the Recollé Ninja Warrior. ICly the winner will be determined by who gets the fastest time through the course, since theoretically all characters might be able to complete it but not everyone's a winner whoops. OOCly, this'll be determined by RNG of course. There will be one winning team and one winning solo contestant.

To help explain why characters might be slowed down on the course even though they're incredibly athletic, this is Not Your Average Ninja Warrior. The challenges are still incredibly difficult of course, and Alex will have a mockup to go into the actual posted log for the event, but there will be Additional Penalties added at random. The water that contestants fall in will now be filled with those kissing fish that normally are only in spas or characters will have to dodge a t-shirt cannon filled with Carmen Sandiego t-shirts. If there are special requests to help with regains, we can also try to accommodate those!

The event will be announced to everyone on October 31st on the plotting post/OOC comm and from there sign-ups for both teams and solo competitors will open. Players are free to plot and sign up to be RNGed on a team if they want to get together with strangers. These sign-ups will remain open until November 16th - players who want to randomize their team will be notified of their teams when sign-ups close. At some point between October 31st and the log, there will be an IC network post for publicity. The IC log for the event will be posted on November 17th where winners will be RNGed and announced on the log.

NOTES: how long has it taken me to actually get this event request in even though i've been talking about it forever

Hi guys!

This event sounds really fun, we like this! A couple of notes from us though.

A.) At this time, Retrospec would not be able to sponsor this event due to some IC changes in the company!

This means that the winner will need to receive a separate prize. We recommend sourcing from character CR, having prize donations, etc.

B.) However, what we are willing to do as a compromise for OOC incentive is that players who create teams or run courses solo while completing their course are eligible to receive one free 10-20 point item of their choice. We would like to reward players for participation in player plots rather than rely on an RNG system solely for signing up. ICly characters will know that they will receive a mystery prize (this will not be sponsored by Retrospec despite players oocly knowing what these prizes are), but they will not know what they are at the time of sign-ups and will not know until they finish the course.

C.) This timeline is completely fine for us, though please keep in mind that we do have the TDM/reserves/apps in November as well if that changes your timeframe at all!

D.) We're definitely fine with the penalties and course challenges you guys plan on doing, and we do advise taking a look at November's mini-log/in-game effects to help you plan these as well.

D.5) Not really a note, just a recommendation from us. In order to help keep the hype going on this and make it a thing players can participate in, you may wish to throw together a training log, sign-ups, team-building exercises, etc, to get you through from whenever your IC announcement is until the actual log itself goes up.

D.5.2) Keep in mind that a lot of the players now have special abilities/magic/powers/etc and you may wish to also design some courses/caps based on these (or tell characters they aren't allowed to cheat :P)

HELLO MODS I'M BACK. After hashing things out with Alex re: dates and structure, here's what we've got!

A ) That's super fine and we were planning on doing a sponsoring option so characters who wouldn't actively participate in the physicality of the competition can still throw their hat in. Team coaches, sponsors, cheerleaders, etc etc. Come and join the wild ride if you so choose.

B ) That works fine for us! One small question for clarification: does every participating character who runs the course get a 10-20 point item? Is this item contingent on course completion or is it like a participation trophy? Just so that we know so we can be clear as possible for the plot post!

C & D ) YOU'RE RIGHT and that totally slipped my mind since we hashed out dates way back when! Here's the new proposed timeline that we've got:

November 2nd: OOC Plotting Post goes live on the log! All details will be available and we're hoping to just give this a little room between the IC Retrospec Post and the Event Log. Please let us know if this works for you or if you'd like it positioned after the Event Log - we're flexible.
November 4th: IC Network Announcement! This is both so players can just slam in and ICly hash out plans for teams immediately as well as comment on sponsors. We'll talk about selling tickets to the event and other IC mechanics so that players can get involved.
November 11th: IC Catch-All Training log! This will be open all month and include prompts for training on the course, but leaving some surprises for the actual competition so it's not repetitive, and generally allow for that team-building and bonding so teams can play together.
November 10th, 17th, 24th: Players who want to RNG teams and sign up for teams at random are free to do so throughout the month but we'll be assigning teams and making them up every Friday. Teams can then roll back to the above training log as their leisure up until the actual event. This is so that people can sign up at their leisure but hopefully no one gets left behind!
November 24th: The Official Ninja Warrior Log! An option in sign-ups is for players who, if they choose, can be assigned a specific obstacle to ~~epically eat shit~~ fail. Otherwise it's a free for all and players will get to decide who makes it through the course.

Characters are expected to run through the course without magic and using magic/abilities will be assigned stupid penalties. Some obstacles might look a little impossible. We'll create variation so that it's not a walk in the park for anybody. c:
